I have to admit, there isn’t much that gets to me anymore. After what I’ve seen in my life, it takes a lot to break through my stomach. Living on the streets in Brooklyn, I certainly wasn’t impervious to gangs. I’ve seen many get shot, stabbed, beaten beyond recognition to the point of the only means of identification is by dental records. I’ve seen drug deals gone bad, men chasing after their women by any means necessary and many more. I was a mechanic for a while, and I wasn’t in the shop without a big ass wrench or something in reach to easily hold my own. I got into becoming a personal trainer in defense in hopes that I could save people by being victimized wrongly out on the streets. I knew my shit, I taught my shit, I watched my back. There was only ever one attack on my life, and I subdued the attacker, a three-hundred pound man on my own. Needless to say, I was a material witness to something much bigger than I knew, and precautions needed to be taken. When I moved out to Bon Temps, I knew this place would be a piece of cake.

The GrabbitKwik was my first place of employment. From the outside, you don’t really see anything out of the ordinary. I’ll tell you what, if you work there, be prepared for the freakiest shit of your life. I mean shit you can’t really explain. Like ghosts and shit. The weirdest people work there, aside from my guy, Alex, and the weirdest people shop there. The voices you hear at night and the strange occurrences make you take second looks constantly. I’m completely out of my element here. I’m not taking out big guidos. I’m not fighting off attackers and rapists. I’m not witnessing drug deals, though I could say that a majority of the people around here are on them. I don’t drink the water, that’s for sure. One morning, I came to work and there was blood everywhere. That was it for me. This place is too damn strange and I’m constantly questioning my sanity around here. I walked into the bossman’s office, hand wrote my two-weeks notice and walked back out of the store again after locking it up, leaving it for someone else who would find this a normal aspect of their strange ass life to deal with it. Since then, I’ve been trying to get my shifts over and done with, get myself home and stay there. This place is fucked, to the point where I wonder why I picked HERE. Next time, I’ll check up on a place more closely…
